When Anne wrote her diary, little did she know that it would become the most widely read book in the world. She would even become the figurehead of the Holocaust in the Netherlands. When her diary got published after the Second World War she became an international celebrity, even though it was posthumous. Her writing is not the only thing that became a big hit. The home she lived in before she was transported to camp Bergen-Belsen has become one of the most visited Second World War monuments in the world.
